The manufacturer classifies Dangerous Romance as a woody fragrance and presents it as unisex. To me, though, it still leans more masculine.
Its note pyramid draws comparisons with Black Afgano by Nasomatto. Yes, they head in a similar direction, but there’s a substantial difference between them. Dangerous Romance also opens with that green, cannabis-like punch. But then everything changes: it develops much more softly, settles down and, to me, becomes much easier to wear. Towards the end, it smells even more pleasant.
A good choice for an evening in cool weather. I’ve come across reviews saying it develops well on women’s skin too. But of course, you need to try it: a unisex label doesn’t tell you how a fragrance will get along with you personally.
I didn’t like it straight away. When I first tried it, it seemed rather sharp — something wasn’t quite clicking. But after spending more time with it and wearing it, my opinion changed. Now, to me, it’s a wonderful perfume with a character of its own and a solid, lasting presence.
For longevity, I’d expect around eight hours, perhaps even a full day. Either way, it’s better to start with a sample and take your time wearing it.
A first encounter doesn’t always give you the full picture of a fragrance.
Dangerous Romance takes patience to get to know.
